Belloto of the North
Beilschmiedia miersii

It is between 5 and 19 meters high. It is an uncommon evergreen species, with simple and brilliant leaves of about 20 inches by 14. It blooms in march and April, and its fruit is yellow, on which pigs feed.

Distribucion

In the Aconcagua Valley, Valparaiso and Santiago.

Habitat

In coastal forests, streams and humid places.
