1. Lauca National Park

This park, located in the Arica and Parinacota Region, was declared a World Biosphere Reserve, as it offers a landscape full of native flora and fauna. On the Las Cuevas Trail, you will walk among volcanic landscapes, where you will observe flamingos. This trail is ideal to visit with the family, since the route does not exceed 3 kilometers. 2. Dragon Hill

For those looking for an accessible and charming hike in the coastal desert of northern Chile, Dragon Hill is an ideal option in the Tarapacá Region, specifically in the city of Iquique. This trekking allows unique views of the city and the dunes that characterize this area, which extend for more than six kilometers, being one of the largest urban dunes in the world and a natural icon of the region.

3. Aguas de Ramón Natural Park

This park is ideal for hiking in Chile if you are staying in Santiago, and will allow you to live a first-class experience. This place has three routes, for all levels, both for those who want to hike and for those more experienced. One of these routes allows trail-running and trekking. Here you will marvel at various waterfalls, hanging bridges and its lush forests.

4. The Bell

Considered one of the best places for trekking in Chile, La Campana, an hour and a half from Valparaíso, is famous for the trail that leads to its summit, from where you can see the Pacific Ocean and the Andes Mountains, if you have a clear day. This route is challenging, with a summit that reaches 2,000 meters high, so it is recommended to have some experience and be prepared with plenty of food and water. 5. Piedra de Águila Trail 

Located in the Nahuelbuta Mountain Range, you can reach Nahuelbuta National Park from Angol, as it is only 30 kilometers from the main access. This park offers one of the few araucaria forests in southern Chile. The main trail is the Piedra del Águila, which we definitely recommend visiting, since this way you will be able to see the ancient Araucaria found there. Other famous trails are: El Aguilucho, Casa de Piedra, Cerro Anay and Estero Los Gringos. Keep in mind that the place does not allow pets or drones. Official information here.

6. Los Alerces Trail

This trail is perfect for those who want to enjoy hiking in Chile, surrounded by ancient forests and fresh air. It is located within the Alerce Costero National Park, and due to its name, in this place you can see the largest larch trees in the region, known as the Great Grandfather, more than 3,500 years old.

7. Explorers Glacier

For adventurers, the Exploradores Glacier is a unique experience in Chilean Patagonia, as it is located inside the Laguna San Rafael National Park, in the Aysén Region. This trekking requires an intermediate level of experience, since it takes place on ice and stones. Prefer expert guidance as this ensures you are following the correct route. This route will give you incredible views, from lagoons, forests, glaciers to native animals, such as the Patagonian puma. 

For this trekking, complete snow equipment is recommended, including shoes with semi-rigid soles, gloves, sunglasses, sunscreen and several layers of clothing.

8. Torres del Paine Base Trek

Finally, one of the trekking circuits in Chile most desired by all lovers of this sport is trekking in the Torres del Paine. It is an unforgettable experience, which will allow you to get to know the park in depth, as well as its landscapes and native and wild flora and fauna. Being a long circuit, we recommend that you prepare yourself physically, as it has ascents and descents of medium complexity.
