Itinerary

Day 1 - Punta Arenas Between 13:00 and 17:00 hrs, we will begin to check-in at the Muelle Arturo Prat (Av. Costanera del Estrecho 1398) of Punta Arenas, to embark at 18:00 hrs. Once onboard, we will make a welcome toast and introduce the Captain and his crew. The ship will sail to the far south immediately after. Through the mythical Strait of Magellan and the Beagle Channel, we will travel through Patagonia and the fjords of Tierra del Fuego
Day 2 - Ainsworth Bay – Tucker Islet  We will arrive in the vicinity of the Marinelli Glacier in Ainsworth Bay. We will learn how life resurfaces after the ice has melted. We will hike through the wonderful sub-Antarctic Magellanic forest.

We will visit the Tuckers Islets, where you will see Magellanic penguins and cormorants from the Zodiacs. In September and April, this excursion is replaced by a hike near a glacier in Brookes Bay.

Day 3 - Pia Glacier - Glacier Alley We will sail along the northwest arm of the Beagle Channel to enter and disembark in the Pia Fjord. We will sail to the viewpoint from where you can see the homonymous glacier, whose main peak extends from the top of the mountain range to the sea. After this unforgettable experience, we will continue our navigation under the majestic gaze of the “Glacier Alley”.
Day 4 - Cape Horn – Wulaia Bay We will arrive at the Cape Horn National Park, where we will disembark, if the weather conditions are suitable, to experience the magic of walking through one of the southernmost points of the world, surrounded by charm and legends.

In the afternoon, we will disembark at Wulaia Bay, a historic site of one of the largest settlements of the native Yagans canoeists. We will reach a viewpoint, walking through the Magellanic forest in which lengas, coigües, canelos and ferns grow, among other species.

Day 5 – Ushuaia The following morning we sail into Argentine waters and dock in Ushuaia, the world's southernmost city.
Australis is scheduled to arrive at 8:30.

The best time to visit is between October and April, during the spring and summer season. In these months the weather conditions are more favorable for excursions, with milder temperatures and longer days. In winter, the weather can be very cold, with strong winds and snow.
Punta Arenas can be reached by plane from Santiago, Puerto Montt or other cities in Chile. From Punta Arenas, travelers can take a ferry or bus to Tierra del Fuego, depending on the tour. Some tour packages include transfers, such as bus rides to the entry points to Tierra del Fuego.
No trekking experience is necessary for most tours, although some excursions may include moderate or low-difficulty hikes. However, if you opt for a more challenging trek in Tierra del Fuego, such as the circuit in Alberto de Agostini National Park, it is advisable to be in good physical condition.
The weather in the region is extremely variable, so it is essential to wear layered clothing, including waterproof jackets, thermal pants, gloves, scarves, hats and hiking boots. Although the summer months tend to be warmer, wind and rain are common, so be prepared for all types of weather.
For a comfortable and complete visit, a 4 to 7 day tour is recommended. This allows you to explore both Punta Arenas and Tierra del Fuego with enough time to enjoy the main activities, such as visits to Magdalena Island, tours of Pali-Aike National Park, and excursions in Tierra del Fuego.
Yes, especially in high season (November to March), when the demand for tours is high. Many of the places of interest, such as the penguin islands or the excursions to Tierra del Fuego National Park, may have limited spaces, so it is advisable to book in advance to ensure availability.
First choose the date on the calendar on your right and tour options. Click on book and then fill in your personal and booking information. Once received we will process your reservation requesting payment by secure credit card and send you vouchers and final instructions.
Yes, Tierra del Fuego can be reached from Punta Arenas by road, crossing the Strait of Magellan by ferry (depending on the tour). The island is connected by a bridge to the mainland of Chile at some points, but not all tourist routes include road access, as some are done by boat.
