Located in Antofagasta, La Portada National Monument is a natural formation in the middle of the sea. It's a big attraction in the area and the most recognizable spot in Antofagasta. This geographic formation is placed 50 meters above sea level, formed by volcanic rocks that emerged from the water over 100 millions b.C. It is 31,27 hectares big. La Portada was named "The Opening", due to the form in which rocks were shaped by the wind and the force of the ocean, creating a big hole in the shape of an entrance in the rocks. Today, La Portada is an excellent place to watch the landscape, surrounded by torrent waters.Información del Destino:
