Itinerary

Tour starts into the Lluta valley to appreciate nature and learn about their cultures. During the ascent you can appreciate the varied flora and fauna, and visit scenic sites of archaeological interest as Lluta Geoglyphs. Arrival at the village Poconchile to visit its Church (XVII Century). Then the Cardones Ravine with candelabra cactus of 4 meters high. Pukará of Copaquilla and Zapahuira Tambo. Panoramic view of Putre, to enter to Nature Sanctuary, National Park Lauca. Surrounded by volcanoes Parinacota, Pomerape, Quimsachatas and Guallatire, with its permanent fumaroles, which include fauna like guanacos,
alpacas, Vicuñas and Vizcachas. In its spectacular scenery highlights wetlands, Yareta, Brava Straw and Cotacotani Lagoons. Arrive at the beautiful Chungara Lake (14.760 ft. o.s.l.), surrounded by a varied bird life as highland Taguas, Ducks and Flamingos. Visit Parinacota Village, with its architecture and Colonial Andean houses of mud and straw. Box Lunch at picnic zone. Returning, visit Putre (11.480 ft. o.s.l.), for tea service and City tour. Return to Arica.

The best time to visit Arica, Iquique and its surroundings is during spring and summer (October to March), when temperatures are pleasant and you can enjoy the beaches and outdoor activities. During autumn and winter (April to September), the weather is cooler, especially in the coastal area, although the region is still quite sunny, making it ideal for those who prefer milder temperatures for exploring and adventure tourism.
Arica and Iquique have a moderate desert climate with Humboldt influence, which means that temperatures are pleasant throughout the year, with mild winters and warm summers. Summer temperatures usually range between 20°C and 30°C, while winter temperatures can drop to 10°C to 15°C. The sun is very strong, even in winter, so it is advisable to use sunscreen. Rainfall is very scarce, and the weather is generally sunny.
Near Arica: Lauca National Park, where you can explore volcanoes, altiplanic lagoons and a rich fauna; the Chinchorro Geoglyphs (pre-Hispanic), and Chinchorro Beach, ideal for enjoying the sun. You can also visit the Salar de Surire, famous for its flamingos and desert landscapes.
Near Iquique: The Cavancha dunes and the Isluga Volcano National Park, where you can go trekking and enjoy the hot springs. In addition, a tour of the Plaza Prat, the Corbeta Esmeralda Museum, and the beaches of Iquique, famous for its relaxed atmosphere and its offer of water sports, are not to be missed.
