Itinerary
We will start our hike from the Mahatua sector to begin the ascent to one of the three main volcanoes of the island: Maunga Poike. We will visit moai that were carved with stones unique to the area, passing through the Cavern of the Virgins or Ana Hue Neru, a place that was relevant in the cult of Tangata Manu or bird man.
We will contemplate the ruins of Ahu Riki Riki to appreciate a platform with moai lying no more than two meters high, then we will begin the ascent to Puakatiki (370 meters), the highest point of this volcano to enjoy the panoramic view of much of the island.
We will begin to descend until we reach the Tari Paihenga sector where our vehicle will be waiting for us to take us back to the village.
This place is totally inhospitable, so it is recommended to bring a picnic on your own or request the optional box lunch service of our company.
