Itinerary
Moon Valley Tour
Lodging in San Pedro de Atacama
Reception and transfer to San Pedro de Atacama from Calama airport. In the afternoon, departure from the hotel to the Moon Valley (15:30 in summer and 14:30 in winter, previous confirmation). If you come to San Pedro de Atacama you can not miss this unique place in the world, the Valley of the Moon, in the middle of the deep aridity of the Cordillera de la Sal we find a landscape of salt and clay molded by water and wind over millions of years, in our walk we will visit the Tres Marias, the Canyon, the Duna Mayor and the Amphitheater by the extravagant forms that gives us the mountain range inciting the imagination and reflection for its tranquility. In the late afternoon, we will go to the Kari viewpoint (Piedra del Coyote) to enjoy one of the best views of the Valley of the Moon, to finally finish watching the sunset that, through its colors, gives us a wonderful end to our excursion.

In the afternoon, embark on an unforgettable experience in the heart of the Atacama Desert with our exclusive tour to Laguna Céjar, Tebinquinche, and Ojos del Salar. This journey will take you through dreamlike landscapes where natural beauty combines with the tranquility of the surroundings.
Departure from San Pedro de Atacama: We begin the day with a panoramic trip to the stunning lagoons, surrounded by majestic mountains and the vast Salar de Atacama.
Laguna Céjar: Enjoy a unique moment as you float in the saline waters of this magical lagoon. The intense salinity will allow you to experience weightlessness while you admire the striking contrast of colors in the landscape.
Ojos del Salar: Next, we will visit the Ojos del Salar, two crystal-clear pools of water set in a surreal environment. Here, you can relax, swim, and marvel at the uniqueness of this place.
Laguna Tebinquinche: We conclude the tour at Laguna Tebinquinche, where you can contemplate the turquoise hues and impressive salt formations. At sunset, the landscape transforms into a breathtaking palette of colors, creating a magical atmosphere.
Return to your hotel.
At 21:00 approx. we will go to the outskirts of San Pedro where we will observe the deep sky with high-end telescopes, computerized and manual. We will observe: planets, open and closed clusters, galaxies and stars.
We will be able to observe the visible constellations of the southern hemisphere
with the help of a laser pointer. With an expert we will learn the Andean archaeo-astronomy of how our American ancestors related the cosmos to their geographical and cultural.
Return to the hotel.

Tatio Geysers
Transfer San Pedro de Atacama - Calama Airport
Departure during the early morning from hotel in San Pedro de Atacama (05:30 hrs. Pick up at 05:00, subject to confirmation) We will head towards the Tatio Geysers. Our trip to the altiplano begins during the early morning to finally reach one of the most important geothermal fields in the world, the "Geisers del Tatio", surrounded by water and steam emanations we will enjoy the beauty of the Andes and with this natural scenery we will offer you a replenishing breakfast. Then we will visit the "Pozon Rustico" where you can enjoy the hot springs that the mountain range gives us. Taking the road back to San Pedro de Atacama you will be able to enjoy the beauty of the landscape, native flora and fauna and finally from a viewpoint we will observe the town of Machuca, place of ancestral llama shepherds. We will observe the flora and fauna of the Putana River such as Vicuñas, llamas, rheas, vizcachas, flamingoes, ducks and seagulls. Transfer to the airport.

The only problem we had with our trip was an unexpected delay upon arrival in Calama airport on Aug 25. The road to San Pedro de Atacama was closed. In our minimal Spanish, we understood that it was due to weather and that we could return to the airport, get a hotel room in Calama,or transfer to another vehicle at the shopping center and wait for an undetermined amount of time. The drivers for TurisTour were very accommodating, but we were not able to call anyone on our cell phones or speak in English to anyone who could explain what the problem was (road washed or landslide? temporary closure due to snowfall?) and what our options were. We tried arranging for a 4WD vehicle (since they were being allowed through) with our limited language skills, but finally decided to wait. It all worked out OK--the road had just been closed due to snowfall; it reopened and we were driven in TurisTour van. It would have saved us several hours of anxiety, however, if an English-speaking age
